Kindle Vella, New works, Past Imperfect

Perfectly Imperfect

Past Imperfect is a story I’ve had under my vest for a long time, but I just wasn’t sure what to do with it because it’s too long for category romance, and I couldn’t figure out how to turn it into two books in any logical way…so I sat on it.

Of course, it occurred to me that I could indie publish it, and when I went exploring that idea, I found Kindle Vella. Vella serializes novels, and it allows readers to try out the first three “episodes” of a story before deciding if they want to purchase the rest of the story as it is released. Though similar to other sites, like Wattpad, because the story is housed as part of Kindle, it will make the transition to a full ebook smoother in the end.

So I insisted the help of some friends. Maggie Blackbird helped ( and is still helping) with whipping Ben and Eve into shape, and V. J. Allison, author and owner of Viridian Rose designs created this AMAZING cover.

I can’t tell you how much this captures Ben and Eve.

Here’s the full blurb for the story. Vella uses a “description,” and they have to be super short.)

Running to another country to escape your past may seem extreme, but Evelyn Tate had no choice. Somehow, despite knowing no one and having nothing, she survived and thrived, found a job and new friends. But now, her life has fallen apart again, and all she wants is some respite from the madness and the paparazzi.

When she gives in to her friend Cami’s browbeating and attends a stereotypical British country weekend, a new relationship the last thing she’s looking for, but when rising star Bastian “Ben” Cahill crosses her path, she wonders if maybe it’s time to try for love again—if she can get past the naysayers and her recent ex-boyfriend, John Lankford.

But Eve’s past isn’t done with her yet, and worse, Ben’s own flawed history could end a perfect relationship before it’s even begun. Usually, Eve would run, but she’s tired of flight. No more running. She’s ready to stand and fight for a future of her own making…one that includes Ben.

And here’s a quick how to on finding Vella.

I hope you enjoy Ben and Eve’s story as it unfolds. Feel free to leave me comments and questions!
